To knockoff or not to knockoff
After reading this article on The Cut, it got me thinking about knockoffs and the value of designer. Now I’m a girl who likes all of the beautiful things that make my credit card mad at me. The materials are nicer, the quality is higher and the items generally last longer when designer. That being said, I don’t have a problem with knockoffs. Just know that you can always tell.
As The...

{Future Plans} NYC
As some of you may know (and others have no idea) I have made the big decision to move to New York!
Graduating in May from UNC, I finally made my spur of the moment decision and NYC it is! I’m planning to move up in June (ish?) and work in fashion and lifestyle PR… pending employment obviously.
I’m envisioning my future life full of stoops in Chelsea, cocktails downtown and...

“You get trated nicer if you’re well dressed. I don’t want to go around like a dreary old lady.”
I can only hope that I’m this sartorially inclined when I’m over 50. Leopard sunglasses are a definite DO.

A little school spirit...GO HEELS
My beloved Tar Heels have advanced to the Elite 8 and will be playing (and beating, fingers crossed…) Kentucky tonight.
I officially have a case of March Madness.

{LOVE} Amanda Uprichard
While on a shopping trip last weekend at Nordstrom I came across this beautiful number in nude silk. I bought it using graduation as an excuse but it’s such a practical dress I might need to go back and pick it up in black. The petal skirt is perfection and falls not too short and not too long.
Having never heard of Rebecca Uprichard, I went to Google to find out more. I loved the cut...

{LOVE} The True Prep
I’m currently reading True Prep by Lisa Birnbach and was inspired by The Fashion Magpie’s post today with some staples in the true prepster’s wardrobe.
While my style fluctuates between preppy, mildly trendy and other terms I’m sure describe the outfits I pick out (is white v-neck a category?), prep has always been a staple to come back to. It’s comfortable,...

Can I have this outfit?
Loving this asymmetrical top by Rebecca Taylor {as seen on lovely fashion blog The Fashion Magpie}. Way expensive but hey, if you have the money.. you can find it on Harvey Nichols.
I have these J Brand Cigarette skinny jeans in a dark denim but I’m thinking I need a pair of black ones. They’re so comfy and don’t stretch out too much, so if you’re a lazy girl like...

{LOVE} Cobalt
I’ve been searching for cobalt pants which I like better than these {seen on Blake Lively in an earlier episode of Gossip Girl} but I’m still falling short.
Overall, I love love LOVE this outfit. Everything from (of course) the fabulous cobalt-blue high-waisted pants to the pulled back hair. And I’m a sucker for anything sequin, metallic or gold.
And, to make it all...

Tibi Fall 2011 #NYFW
These are just two of the many great photos captured by Reed Young backstage at Tibi. I love the lush and detailed fabrics and patterns along with dramatic necklines. And, while I can’t get my mind off of spring break (one day one day I can make it..) these pictures make me excited for deep reds and metallics coming for fall. Only other thing I’d like to know is nail...

Dewy Makeup
One of my favorite bloggers, Cupcakes & Cashmere, posted this how-to for dewy makeup. As I’m currently in a little-to-no makeup phase, it’s a great way to see how to actually achieve the dewy affect which my friend of Enigmatic-Dilettante does so well. I recently bought Tarte cheek stain {on eBay mind you, gotta save $$} and I love instant the bright pink color!
